Whether you’re a teacher, teaching assistant, administrator or site staff, this practical course will give you the confidence to protect the personal information of pupils, families and colleagues — and help your school stay fully compliant with the law. By the end of this course, you will: ✔ Understand what the UK GDPR is and why it matters in schools ✔ Know the 7 principles of data protection and how they apply to your role ✔ Be familiar with key terms like personal data, special category data and data breach ✔ Recognise how to handle and store data securely ✔ Know what to do if a data breach occurs ✔ Understand your school’s legal obligations — including privacy notices, consent and access requests ✔ Know when and how to contact your Data Protection Officer (DPO) Who should take this course?
